PDE will do well or poorly depending on how strong drilling demand remains. If oil prices strengthen and drilling demand fires up more, PDE will likely look very smart because they will get big incremental increases in revenue from the drilling rigs they picked up from NE. For now, with oil prices down and demand for shallow drilling uncertain, PDE's purchase looks questionable. But from a longer view, I expect that oil prices will strengthen and PDE will do fine.

My instincts, and your comments, caused me to drop PDE and pick up MDCO. Thanks for your spin on PDE, it helped.
