"Favorite among her picks is the telephone companies, where deregulation and the convergence of data and telephony is making it "increasingly a misnomer to say they're not technology plays."

While admitting "the valuations are nuts," Googin also favors the Internet stocks over traditional PC plays, naming Infoseek (SEEK) as her current favorite.

"The conference calls are so compelling, everyone wants to own them. And there's no way to value them, because when markets are growing so fast, the old metrics are of no use anymore," she said. 'How do you value a company growing 100% for 10 years? How much should you have paid for Intel 10 years ago?'"

Off Topic

I also am considering go2net. Market cap is still well under 100MM so there could be quite a bit of room yet. I bookmarked their homepage but I haven't had a chance to see if it is any good yet. I've also added them to my message manager but very few messages are posted. Kinda like seek about a year ago. Mmmmmm

Have you used their site much? Do they offer anything that would draw people there instead of other sites?

I was checking out Go2Net and some other internet stocks, also. And am wondering if anyone knows of any mutual funds that play these internet stocks? CMGI has been called a mutual fund type stock, if that makes any sense, but I'm looking for actual funds. Anyone have any info?

Thanks,
Nick
