I agreee that the technical picture of IFMX is improving. If IFMX continues to move up as it has, IMO this will actually entice more shorts into the picture. Since these shorts are involved in a stock *after* it has dumped and bottomed out, they are not playing off of a technical basis. These shorts are making fundamentally driven decisions and for now ignoring the evidence of a fundamentally improving picture. So IMO the fundamental picture would have to change *and* the stock would need respond by showing good upside strength before they would cover. If this scenario plays itself out, there can be a much more explosive upside potential. However, Mr. F. will need to provide impressive earnings figures in order for the shorts to cover. He will have to demonstrate a form of upward earnings momentum. So far he has been able to do do this with his first timely earnings surprise. Now he needs to continue the upside earnings surprises since expectations are being lead higher by this last earnings surprise. Next quarter's earnings report will IMO play a significant part in the near term prospects of Informix. The conference call following the earnings report will also play a large part in the earnings expectation of the people following this stock. Forward guidance will prove to have a considerable impact on the near term outlook on this stock.
