Nice article find. What's good is that the media is not automatically lauding Intel's new chips and panning the products from IDTI and other competitors. Analysts like Ashok Kumar (he usually does his homework well) are looking under the covers and have discovered a blow-up dummy. Let's hope the consumer doesn't fall into bed with it.

"There is absolutely zero reception for the chip among vendors," said Ashok Kumar, semiconductor analyst with Piper Jaffray. "Only NEC-Packard Bell and Sony have signed on."

[off topic]

I seem to remember something about WinChip not being
NT-compatible. Can anyone confirm or deny this (with
references, if available)?

I will be purchasing a new machine. I'll consider a WinChip
system, but I need to know that it will run NT 4.0.

Thanks.
