Hi Alan,
It is based partly perhaps on wishful thinking; partly from Z, who said on the Drive thread that he had heard that Hyundai was shopping Maxtor; and partly from an article posted on the Asia thread that said that Korea's new government was telling the chaebol's to focus on their core competency businesses and get rid of the rest. My assumption, of course, is that Maxtor is too small to be a core business for Hyundai, despite their recent success, and too cyclical and uncertain for them to continue to invest the kind of money that is necessary to maintain that success.

By the by, I wish we would hear from some of the folks who used to post on this thread who said that they were resellers of DLT concerning this latest "rumor" (if even that status can attributed to this tall tale, given what we've heard so far) that there are returns of the DLT7000. You know anything about this?
