As usual the Malays are participating in wishful thinking about competing on a global scale in a major industry. They JUST DON'T get it - they don't now, will never ever have the resources to do so!

Ths last paragraph says it all.

More planning on the GRAND scale to show their competence when the world wants to see them DO it rather than plan it.

'nough said, I could rant on forever about this. If they would only stick to their knitting!

Mohan, BT:

I can assure you that Proton is not actively expanding capacity. Quite the contrary in fact. Suppliers to Proton have been handed new forecasts reflecting as much as 50% reductions in some models. Plant expansions have been placed on hold. Suppliers have been warned that further reductions are anticipated. Each week, the faithful and beleagured suppliers flock to the meeting held for them to hear the latest revisions. They almost always walk away in shock at the extent of the revisions downward. There is little accurate forward thinking. No one seems willing to admit the extent of the contraction here. This, I believe, is a direct reflection of the entire business community.

Best,
Stitch
