re CYMI, is that sound I hear a collective yawn?

great news out officially now for CYMI's next generation technology, so why is the investment community acting so ho-hum? And on a market rebound day at that. Why, KLIC is up double the percentage as CYMI so far this morning, on NO news.

aV, thanks for your thoughts on PRIA. That was very in-depth.

Playing CYMI on the latest news? Here's da catch...

See, the news is good, but it really addresses the company's prospects for 2-5 years down the road. Investors and traders can't see that far. It's not that they're blind, or uncaring. The problem is, they tend to be focused more on next quarter, and maybe as far as next year. So, earnings is old news, and UT research breakthroughs are next century's news, and the street is looking at the next two quarters with high-powered electron microscopes.

My feeling is that this news, while extreeeemely exciting to engineers within the field, such as yourself, will prove to be more ballast for share prices than rocket fuel...helping to keep the stock higher valued on bad days/months. As we move along, it may become more important, as more analysts initiate coverage, and more funds consider CYMI shares for purchase. The company will be taken even more seriously, now that they've proven an ability to look farther into the future than the typical investor. That's their job.
