Ed:

Sold trading shares, after receiving a sell signal from composite of indicators that I use. This coincided with the anticipated weakness I expected as the first quarter draws to a close and the earning warnings started. I followed the stock down to 26.62 this morning and I was going to start buying, however, I had meetings in midtown and could not put an order in on a down day without being in my office watching the action.
I still expect that the first quarter add ons is going to catapult this stock thru its old high and judging by the rest of todays action, nxtl held its own. I was also comforted to hear that the Bell atlantic direct connect is an illusion and consequently will have little effect on Nextels business.
From my own practical experience, I can tell you that there has been a dramatic improvement in the service in NYC. The noise of a scrambled transmission used to be a daily event. I do not believe I have heard the jumble in several weeks. I believe I mentioned a month or so ago, that I met the contractors who were installing cells sites in Manhattan and he said nextel was adding tremendous capacity. It shows.
