A disk drive in this range is almost the same price as a mid-range CDROM drive... I see that as too difficult to sustain any kind of industry research and therefore a dead end.
Granted this is a VERY low end product... but that kind of low end pressure is bound to also drag down the top end and it will have the same result of chilling R&D. Someone has to pay the price for advancement. Its best to spread it out over all of the products that are a result of that R&D. Whose pocket is it going to come out of? I just don't believe its a sustainable industry at those levels...
