RE: <<Jim, Are you spreading fear again with out the facts as they apply to DELL>>

Wow, And I thought it was Intel's announcement that was causing the stock to drop 7 points today. :)

I am not trying to spread fear.
I am just talking about events that are occuring in the PC industry. I find it intresting how hard it is for so many people not to even question weather there is anything wrong.
It is this manical confidence that keeps me on the other side. In 2 years it will be intresting to look back on this move of DELLs stock.

Looking back, the IOM Spike move look like a suckers rally, but at the time, the Iomegans were walking on clouds, trying to decide which jet to buy.

Jim

Recently, I was shopping for a laptop computer. I went to a CPU store. They don't even have 266 on display. Even their older models (233 and less) carry a higher price tag than dell. I called dell and ordered a 266 with 13.1" TFT screen with less money. It's an easy decision to make. And I believe I am not alone. Therefore, I certainly agree with you. Dell is giving indirect players some hard time now. indirect boxmakers like cpq are affected by inventory correction in distribution channel. Component makers such as intel fare even worse. They are affected by two (not one) inventory corrections: the inventory in boxmakers' distribution channel and the boxmakers' internal component inventory.
