>Shorting this Rocket would be suicidal. actually, so far it's been very profitable. lets imagine that you are a group of 7 large taiwanese and japanese ram manufacturers.. you can either license rambus's patents, or invent your own specs and sell your ram that much cheaper.. with the cutthroat ram pricing market, anyone who kept paying licenses to rambus will get killed. they've all announced that they are going to use their own "open standard" for dual speed ram, which will get them running up to 200 mhz on the bus speed- how long do you think it will be before they announce their new "super fast standard" that just happens to be strikingly similar but not legally infringing to Rambus's patents? after all, rambus doesnt manufacture anything. they just license their patents.
