David Nadalin: Mike Dell, was asked recently about Asia, and growth in that arena. His response was positive, he stated that he expects growth and opportunity in that sector of the world, and that his company would pursue the potential of the Asian markets. He also added that although there could be short term hiccups he also stressed they would be just that short term hiccups. This Asia hype as I see it is unwarranted hype indeed. Europe cancels out Asia! Much I would say depends on one's investment style. For example is one thinking short, or longer term? How heavily weighted are earnings dependant on Asian markets? Not long ago there was an Asian debacle, then it was over done, now it's back! But 3-4 weeks from now it's over done again. For if the guru's can sway you, they can profit from you. I say stuff your ear plugged to this Asian excrement. They are but a spec in the blue sea and that spec's economy is expected to grow in 98 at about 9-10%. I say buy on bad news, and sell on the good! One Question: There was a fuzzy bird flying around not certain of a direction and he was tired. He looked down searching for a tree to take roost in. Now then, there were more than 10,000 trees which could also symbolize stocks. The fuzzy bird with a skinny neck picked a tree that had already been pruned. Would you say it would be prudent to land your feathered bones in a tree that has already been pruned, Or should one look for a better tree, a taller tree, one that offers more protection? It seems to me that if one likes trees, he should find one of the 10,000 that hasn't already been pruned, for his feathers might get plucked! I think a taller tree would offer more protection Wouldn't you agree? Good luck c-ya!
