I wonder what they will charge for the old 1000 and 5000? <G>
My local Staples still has several in plastic wrap (they tried to sell me a 5K when I busted the screen on my PP)....Staples management never caught on that they have to sell inferior/out-dated products at a discount in order to clear inventory.

IBM unveils super-fast chip
Performance is three times faster than fastest Intel chip

NEW YORK, Feb. 4 - International Business Machines Corp. Wednesday
announced that it has built and tested a super-fast computer chip
that operates about three times faster than the fastest Intel
Pentium. However, the chip isn't expected to be commercially
available for at least two to three years.

The 1000 MHz chip contains one million transistors and was
developed using IBM's existing 0.25-micron CMOS 6X technology. The
microarchitecture, circuits and testing techniques resulting from
this project will eventually be applied to microprocessors using
IBM's recently introduced CMOS 7S "copper chip" technology.

Looks like copper circuitry is coming on fast.
