If you are into short trading then I highly recommend the chapters on major top patterns. I am amazed at how little is known or understood about this style of chart reading and how much faith is put into little fifty dollar charting programs that really miss the mark.

In short, a one to two year chart history can tell volumes about the strength or weakness of a stock but it all has to be viewed as a whole. A few good examples of ominous charts would be SYSF, QDEK, and CUBE. These are charts that show the tops and the destruction that ocurred after the tops were broken. Of course, fundamentals are important too but we have all seen issues that seemed to only lose more ground with good news and this can only be chalked up to weak technicals.

I think you will like the book. Starts out pretty dry but gets good when the actual patterns and the market psychology that make them up is revealed.
