I know -- they always give record dates. That's why I asked my broker about them. Those dates are used only for cash dividends. My broker did not really have an answer. In fact, he asked someone else and apparently that person did not know either. People would not buy between the two dates if they had to pay the full price and did not get the split.

Pamela,
ct is right. I promise. You can buy right up to the day they actually split and you will get in on the split. I've done it before with other stocks.
