INTC & MSFT have <5% of WAVO

I think Wavephore is the only company that
both MicroSoft AND Intel have a stake in.
Usually you'll see one OR the other, not both.

It's sad to be under $9.50, but at least it's
on low volume suggesting a lack of new buyers,
and negative overall market sentiment dragging
the stock price down.

I don't believe the weekend roadshow will
do much to attract buying interest. I wish
MicroSoft would announce the Windows'98 lauch
date already. You'd think with all the fanfare
they must prepare, we'd have known by now.

Intel shareholders take heart. This coming
quarter should be great, so either hold on or
average down. With the more profitable P2/400's
coming out, and competition no where in sight,
Inventory holders like Compaq may feel a bit
more pain here, but they'll still have to buy
plenty of new chips when their customers start
demanding them. Current weakness is your typical
after Xmas with product transition doledrums.
Also SEA and other market weakness has already
been factored in since October.

I find it amusing how market analysts attribute
Intel's problems to not adjusting for the growing
sub $1,000 computer. Maybe they have not noticed
the regular(non P2) Intel Pentiums are dirt cheap,
and that AMD and Cyrix are losing ground in those
markets as well. I guess those nitwit's have to
have something to tell their skeptical customers.

There is an article in Individual Investor magazine (Dec-97) that speaks of wavo and 3 other companies that msft and intc have taken stakes in. In fact that where I got the idea. I think this technology is a great idea. It would be the heck out of pointcast.

INTC bot 500,000 of WAVO at $8, per its press release 9/30/96. And I see from a prior posting, that MSFT's buy in November 97 was publicized today ... resulting in about 20% of WAVO's float changing hands today.

The last stock I owned when the second of these two bought in was CMGI ... and it has since become a four-bagger.

Doug (happily long WAVO)
