Ron,

The WSJ article claimed $10 for mobile to mobile. Very misleading.

It is $9.99 on top of one of the digital plans. The cheapest digital plan to which you can add unlimited mobile is $29.99, hence the $39.99 price.

Exactly what does BAM charge per minute for mobile to land?
It depends on which on of their digital plans you select. Here is their new rate structure for NYC:

bam.com

As I said, it is not the most competitive, but it's still ok.

Wouldn't it make more sense to just DC the person you wished to talk to?

Because not everyone in our office has a Nextel phone. Most of the people in our office don't need to talk to the people on the road regularly. That's what makes Nextel's system inflexible. It doesn't integrate well with normal phone systems.

What does sprint charge for roaming (if any)? Does Sprint have direct connect, or mobile to mobile?

The roaming charges were not cheap. I don't have the info handy, but I think it was about 60 cents per minute. But in area where they have coverage, you pay no roaming charges, and on $99 plan, you don't pay any long distance charges. I don't think they have direct connect, but I don't place that much value to it. As far as I know, they have no special mobile to mobile rate. But now, that BAM came out with it, you can bet that they will stay competitive.
