Rick... Reasonable times, for sure. I'm currently using data from Primate Software Co. They only feed me the symbols I have in my database. I get about 3000 of these daily and it takes about the same time to do a download as you. However, first it has to compile my list and send it to Primate. That takes a couple of minutes, then the actual update of my files takes nearly 15 minutes. This is done off line, of course. I can get this about 1/2 hour earlier than it sounds like the stuff is available from Q+, and I usually just go have dinner while that goes on. I could do the same with Q+. Do you actually keep histories on 11,000+ issues on your drive? That seems like overkill to me. I have a CD of several years of history on some 8000+ symbols. Once I loaded all of that I immediately discovered that about 1/2 of it was junk I didn't ever want to see again. Stuff trading for less than a dollar, stuff trading maybe 2-3 times a week, warrants, prefereds, etc. After culling all that (a job I never want to be faced with again) I ended up with around the 3000 number I now get. That brings to mind another question. I go through my files regularly and fix splits, dump stuff that has turned to junk, and correct the occasional bits of bad feeds. I also add new symbols as they come to my attention. From Primate I can get histories on these for up to 6 years, just by saying I want it. I usually only get 3-4 years, but what do you do for these needs (where do you get histories)? What about option prices...does Q+ have this? Incidently, I pay Primate about $23/month. Their rate just went up from $19.95 and the corresponding customer service went down. In addition to my daily feeds from them, they also give me a split list a couple of times a month and a daily report of most actives, etc., much like it looks like Q+ does. I have more, but feel like I've probably overstayed my welcome with all the above. Thanks for jumping in. Ken
