Art, you can't download Director per se, because that's a large creation tool which is sold in a box. The ShockRave site does point to the automatic installation of the Shockwave for Director engine to your browser, however. I'll assume that's the case there.

In Nav3/Win95 you won't be able to take advantage of the auto-installation available to later browsers, and so the installation instructions recommend (a) downloading the installer presented for your browser; (b) quitting the browser; and (c) running the installer. You'll then have a multimedia-enhanced web browser.

There are possible problems covered in the Troubleshooting FAQ linked on the installation page. There's also a newgroup available that's linked at the site, but you'll need the info in the Troubleshooting FAQ before others can guess what might be different there.

(fwiw, the most frequent problem seen with Netscape installations is when multiple browsers are present on the system, and the multimedia engine is installed into a different copy than the one in use. Sometimes people manipulate that browser's Helper Apps page unnecessarily, which can also foul subsequent embedded use. There are only about two problem posts a day in the Shockwave Plugins Newsgroup, which is pretty good considering that the current run rate is over 120,000 successful installations per day from the Macromedia website alone.)
