Francisco -- Sure, they are upgradeable. But why keep producing products that need upgrades? It is a marketing decision to discontinue the sub standard 56K's (but provide the firmware/software upgrades necessary to make them ITU V90 compliant), but then to repackage and provide already upgraded modems to the market. It' basic marketing, IMHO.
