<< I heard the same thing you were just talking about. Somebody asked a question whether Brooks Fiber was going to pay for what was delivered, and the answer was YES. Also they said that further deliveries to Brooks Fiber are expected. All of that implies deployment. >>

That's the key word. "Implies". It's always an implication with this company. BFPT may be a paying customer because FIBR shipped some evaluation units for a nominal fee.

The analysts didn't press them hard enough on this issue the way they did NASA. It's obvious that they got frustrated with the runaround that they got so they just gave up trying to get the real answer. I don't think any bought the idea that FIBR has installed Gigamux's in BFPT network carrying live traffic.

Not trials...

[What about Payne Webber?]
I have two conjectures.
1. Disaster recovery. The enormous bandwidth of the Gigamux would
allow real-time, on-line backup of everything.
2. Campus network. One of the big markets for short-haul is the
connection of physically nearby sites into a high-bandwidth WAN.
3. 1&2 together.

I wouldn't be surprised if the price dips a little tomorrow, but,
the more I think about it, I begin to think about a gap up in FIBR.
