Sorry I've been away. I have some comments...

First of all, on Thursday, Wedbotch Morgan upgraded THQI to ACCUMULATE from HOLD. I suppose they have too much pride to raise it to BUY. Gimme a break...Next!

The WCW Nitro/#1 for January news is not news. It was posted here a few weeks ago. I'm waiting to see the rankings for February.

The N64 version of WCW (NWO) is inferior to Nitro (PSX) in every way except the multiplayer option (not available in Nitro). The graphics are not as good in NWO, because the game was not an original creation. It was a Asmik game from Japan that was given a makeover to seem WCW-ish. The graphics for Nitro are great, although the gameplay is considered slightly less exciting. Nevertheless, good graphics go a long way for a selling title. NWO and Nitro are not the same game. NWO is the same as WCW vs. World (PSX). When Nitro (by Inland Productions) for N64 comes out in Q3 or Q4, it should sell better than any WCW title that has been released yet. Generally, if an N64 game is good, it can sell more units than a PSX game, due to the title-starved installed base of N64 users. Although I don't have exact numbers, I believe that Nitro (PSX) has outsold NWO (or it will have done so by the end of Q1), and NWO has outsold WCW vs. World (PSX). When all is said and done, I believe that Nitro (N64) will have outsold Nitro (PSX).

Ray Tracers isn't a great game, but it should sell a decent amount. I'm expecting no more than 80,000 units for all of 1998.

For MacPax, I didn't break it out of my estimate for total Pax sales of 80,000 units in 1998. Although the Mac market is much smaller than the PC market, the competition is less intense, the Mac users are more starved for new titles, and those who have played Pax #1 are probably still using Macs. I think that my estimate for Pax unit sales are conservative, because I hear that it is still selling well in Europe.
