Oh my. Relying on Dell's lowly salesmen is the weakest thing you guys could do, and it was also a cheap shot (and totally meaningless) by the senators....

Dan, why don't you give Dell a call and ask the sales rep a couple of halfway semi-technical questions... Haha, all those guys know how to do is take orders--and I guess they're able to tell you something like, "duh, a Pentium II is faster than a regular Pentium." Or, "yes, if you add more memory the computer will perform better."

One things' for sure: Those sales reps know relatively little about the products they sell, and certainly know absolutely nothing about the contractual agreements that the executives make.
