Thanks for your analysis Dog.
I don't think there will be any IPO, it will just get listed on the board, not unnoticed of coarse. I agree still a good buy, even up to possible spit or listing. This one should treat anyone real well for years to come.

The big question is: "will there or won't there" be an IPO?

I was working some numbers this afternoon at the office and came up with a much different number...must be doing something wrong....here goes:

145 million shares outstanding (figure given to me today by company)

$3 billion cash
$841 million RCN (48.5%)
$est. $225 CTCO (48.5%)
$est. $85 Cabl (48.5%)
coal biz- ?
computer outsource biz --?

I used $650 million for those two businesses combined and that totals to 4.8billion divided by 145 million = $33/share. 650 million was the company revenue figure for 1996 (97 not yet available) and I used 1x revenue.

No debt as of this writing. I know book is often calculated at cost so is that what you are doing versus my present value calculation or am I off on some figure? Thanks for your help.
