Well, not necessarily,though what you say could be true in the conventional sense. Allow me to elucidate.

Let's look at Intel. When a new 'chip' is introduced by intel it is priced higher but 6 months later the same chip could be had for a lesser price and it is not because there is less demand but on the contrary.

Another example in a different industry,let's say VCR.

When VCRs came out they were priced above $1000.00 a few years later one could buy it for less than $400.00 not because of less demand either. I should know I paid close to $800.00 when I bought mine in the early 80s.
