NEWS RELEASE March 5, 1998 EPIC RESOURCES (B.C.) LTD. ("ERB-V;EPILF-L") - Drilling on Ferndale 1A Well Complete Frank W. Donis, President of EPIC RESOURCES (B.C.) LTD. is pleased to announce that through its wholly owned subsidiary Rival Resources, Inc. that the drilling on its Ferndale 1A well in the Bellingham Basin of Washington State is now complete. Approximately 1,350 feet of core was shipped to Salt Lake City, Utah for independent analysis on February 10, 1998. Preliminary analysis of the core and geophysical logs by Terra Tek and Tesseract of Salt Lake City have indicated encouraging results from conventional gas from porous sands. Further testing of the Ferndale 1A well will be carried out in order to confirm commercial gas rates.
