RE:B. Its scanning technology was also unique, permitting larger fields to be exposed with higher yields. I've never heard whether this is absolutely true or not. Only claims from the company and some old artcles. I would think the hard part is making the larger reticles, but am not sure. I do know that the larger reticle is necessary for this of course. Here are the old articles addressing some of these topics.
