Shane, I was referring to the CPQ warning that you mentioned in one of your posts. Rumors were rampant today that a CPQ earning's warning was imminent. I assumed that's what you were referring to. Sorry if I misunderstood you. The SFA conference concluded today(Thursday), and J. Desseaur will give us an update on what happened on his hotline tomorrow (Friday). I'll provide info over the weekend.

Shane, here's the deal on SFA. The two day conference concluded on Friday. Much of the news hit the street on Thursday, which probably explains the run up and high volume on Friday. The cable companies enmasse are going to interactive programming (video on demand, email, etc). SFA is the *only* company that makes *interactive* digital set top boxes (will be shipping this quarter), and they also own the programing that makes it work. They have an 18 month lead on the competition. This is all from the hotline on Friday. Recent SFA news concerning digital set top box orders confirm all this. It looks like SFA is going to be a prime beneficiary of this new "paradigm" shift to interactive cable programing. Whether LSI benefits because SFA is a customer I don't know. Another plus in SFA's picture is that declining memory prices will reduce their cost because memory chips goes in the boxes. About Compaq...I bought into the selling frenzy on Thursday at 27. Probably more selling on Monday, but I'm holding on to my shares. I think that Compaq's been beaten down to the point where it is now a good long term value play. I may not have caught it at the bottom, but I think when the smoke clears by Wednesday I'll be within a few points of it.
