Therfore, it depends where I would invest.

You are absolutely correct... China is not Ind. or Thai.
More efficient work force and central gov't stability (?)
leads to more foreign investments (Shanghai example).

Indonesia might not be around in the future the way we
know it today.
Political stability Thai/Ind. ???? ..

As I said PRC has been building reserve for US $ for several
years.

The natural course of building China's economy will lead to
going off US $ peg in future. Maybe not soon, but it will
happen.
