(off topic) Zeev - you inquired, "Joan, why Neutron? Leaving all the "assets intact" but eradicating all the people?"

Judging from the dirty laundries GE has left for the townsfolks of Pittsfield, MA, its "Neutron Jack" is either 100% successful [for the GE shareholders] or 50% successful [for the people who live on Mainstreet, USA of Pittsfield!]

[damn, I know there is some perverted reasons why I'd never wanted to invest in GE!]

Hi Zeev, >>why Neutron?

Jack runs each department as a stand alone business unit. He visits each unit each quarter and drives the management team to increase revenues and efficiency--therefore profit. If you are executing he wants more and if your are not executing the party is over.<ggg> After he leaves the management team feels like a bomb has been dropped. He is one tough CEO. This is good, and in my opinion it is probably the best run company on earth.

Joan

Hi Zeev, I did some nosing around inside of GE and Jack is squeezing the departments I talked to. Of course I did not talk to a statistical sample of GE and the folks were not sure if his cutting budgets and forcing management to new productivity levels was anything out of the normal.<ggg> Hard to tell what is going on inside the company at the top.

Jacks style will be to bring the analysts together and guide them higher or lower if the numbers are off. IMO, he will not go public and announce missing numbers. He will let the boys and girls on wall street do their job.
