Zurdo,

It can't be MM manipulation because a specialist fills orders on the NYSE. Very likely what you're seeing is orders being filled out of market on the Instinet or wherever INTC is traded, SOES shops etc.

I too noticed the incredible non-stop buying without much upward action. My translation is this: some brokerage houses have an infinite reserve of CPQ stock which they're dumping indiscriminately. As of yet, more than enough buyers have stepped up to the plate to keep CPQ afloat. I apologize to the fellow who was talking about a 50/50 swing in buying yesterday. Today it's more like 95% of trades going off at the ask, yet we must keep in mind that a trade at the ask is both a buy and a sell. Individuals are buying, brokerages are dumping en masse.

At this point, it's a high-stakes game of chicken. Who will blink first?
