Mark, Thanks for the response. I understand your point in general. Your response seems to imply that market makers control so many shares it takes some serious buying (or selling) beyond the shares available to them to overcome their manipulations. The implications then for the small investor seem to be: 1) If you're short-term trading, be prepared to act quickly, and don't chase the horse that's already left the barn. 2) If you're a long- or intermediate-term investor, do your homework, make sure you understand as much as possible about the company and the industry, and don't be frightened by crazy fluctuations in stock price.
