Yes, I had that lunch with ex SEBL director of engineering (he reported to VP of engineering). He holds no grudge - he still has some SEBL stock.

He said integration would be extremely difficult - some flashy stuff could probably be done in a matter of months, but that any good MIS guy would see through it. In maybe a year, some UI stuff and data bridges could be built, but it would also be a patch.

It would take two years to do it right, in his opinion. He said the products had totally different data models, totally different schemas, different architectures, etc. He said that migrating customers to one from another would also be very difficult and most customers would likely not want to deal with it.
