Amber,
will not answer all your questions , however IMVHO, saphy is doing
whatever produces profits, small (see biz.yahoo.com
and large, ie msft.
Jump into SAP? Perhaps invest in a firm that shows the potential,
long term, to show above average returns? Who knows for sure,
reaesrch, homework, will reduce risk.
Best Regards
ps. I have great respect for the opinions of Ibexx.

Amber,

Good questions, and for most of the answers, I will defer to Ibexx. I just thought I'd tell you that my interest in SAPHY arose when most folks I know said that their companies were going through a "SAP" program. Upon investigation, I learned about the strategic nature of SAP R3 to these corporations, and that they even sold software to Microsoft.

Heck, I figured that any company selling software to MSFT has something going for it. ...and like MSFT, it looked like it was valued quite highly. Being a long term investor, mostly, I junped in and bought last October. It has gone up ever since.

Their alliance with INTC etc. show long term perspective, targeting smaller, intermediate sized companies.

Yes, it looks expensive, but if you look at the charts, find any time in the last five years when it has not looked expensive due to share price increases.

Good investing.

Amber,
Also according to the website, "as the installed base grows and SAP's close relationship with its customers' business processes deepen, consulting and training revenues and profits will also expand."

I am already aware of a software company which specializes in "training" software for SAP's software applications. When microsoft comes out with a product there are numerous new software products from other sources to assist the customer in various ways. No different with SAP. As to your other questions I too am looking at SAP very critically because it carries such a high price. One has to be careful when making what I consider a major investment as this one entails.
