All: Microsoft/China Telecomm to collaborate on China browser:

Does anyone know how they plan to do the Chinese character interfacing? I am familiar with Zi Corp's (ZICAF) interface that is being integrated into Ericsson wireless handsets for China market; does Microsoft have a similar product?

TIA.

-- Don't forget- the landscape is littered with products that the public didn't want, in spite of "Focus Groups" and better technology. Don't have to go far back to remember VHS vs Beta (people wanted to tape a movie, and cared a hoot about Beta, which could only tape 30 minutes (if I remember correctly, whereas VHS had 2 hours with it's first tapes). New Coke vs Classic Coke. Innovative cars were a bust (Studebaker, DeLorean, Diesels of all types (even Mercedes). I believe Gates tuned into basic demands - folks wanted to have total consistency across software types (same buttons, menus, etc). Similar mode to fast food (people want consistency (even if junk food), in every branch they visit. Human nature (Gee - I guess Gates is human after all).
