<< ... 'Motorola has not been as adept at handling that transition as some of its competitors,'' Ian Toll, analyst BT Alex. Brown, said.
''As the analog-to-digital transition occurs, Motorola is losing
share.''

Added Chris Chaney, semiconductor analyst at A.G. Edwards: ''They were
about six months late or so in their roll-out of new digital phones.''
This has helped competitors such as Sweden's Telefon AB L.M. Ericsson
(LMEb.ST) and Finland's Nokia (NOKSa.HE) gain sales. ..>>

MOT's arrogance prevented itself from making progress in transitioning
to CDMA tech. ahead of LU, Ericsson, and Nokia. It is very difficult
to catch up with LU and other competitors now. MOT needs to get rid
of the decision-makers who delayed the CDMA transition.
