Don et al, here's the text of CPQ's warning.

Message 3627272

Sales will be flat from the year ago Q, earnings will be "breakeven", they are "cautious" about the outlook for the second Q.

We should be up another 100 points Monday.

Larry Kudlow had a nice sound bite on CNBC a little while ago. He said it's like the boy who cried wolf. All these companies have been warning for the last several Qs, carefully managing expectations. He reminds us that in the story, when there really was a wolf, no one believed it.

He seems to think there really is a wolf out there BTW. He is a wise man, no?

Bob

Don.
I got a cold-call from a broker, to buy IOM 2 days
before they miss.
I told him to short them and hang up. (I didn't short them
but I wish he was long <g>).

>>I have to laugh at the CPQ warning. A broker just cold-called me last night (isn't that illegal?) trying to sell me the stock. I wish he would have called tonight instead. :)<<

So call him back tonite. In similar situations I have, and now brokers don't call me.

All: after the CPQ announcement, am I finally going to make back some of the bucks I'm down shorting this stupid market?
