I have dumped CPQ due to the DEC buyout and still pissed by the repeated warnings. Maybe DELL should speak out loudly now.

re : the concerns over Compaq are now only for the first or maybe into the second quarter. Most analysts are saying the second half of the year will be very good.

Just to note, Yes they expect the 2H 98 to be good, but non of them expected CPQ or INTC to happen in the 1st H 98.

For the long's sake, I hope they are only wrong on the 1st H of the year.

Speaking of diversification, let me present an emerging great stock: Open Tex Corporation (OTEXF). Strong momentum, great growth, huge market, still cheap. Just beginning to receive attention from investment community. IMHO, it could easily double in 3 - 4 months.
