This company will be bought out! The only question is who.

This stock has pretty much lagged the Qwests and the Teleports in the last 6 months or so, so it was due for a catchup move. Even as I say that, I remember buying some ICGX on April something or other last year at around $10, so it's not like we've been sucking eggs the whole time....

You're right, you gotta love it... Wish I would not have sold 1/2 my position at 32.... Was expecting the usual pullback after a few point runup, maybe this is the big one, for real.

I agree with both Avi and Frank. The company is one of the best buyout candidates, and it has been lagging for no apparent reason (using the standard set by many of the others). The price WorldCom agreed to pay for Brooks Fiber (something like $65?) when the stock was trading at something like $30 (my memory may be off here) set the standard for this. ICG was frustrating to own for much of the last few months and it looks like people with some real money are finally getting deeply involved. I love my Sept. calls - got a double in a week, even though I missed the initial pop. Next few months should be fun, and I do expect them to sell the company. Hell, that's the only thing that makes most of these companies financially viable!

Take a look at USNC. IPO a few weeks ago at $16. It's up to 21 7/16. They're a 100% reseller which is almost by definition unprofitable, but they're growing very rapidly and the stock is moving fast. I own it as a trader, have no conviction whatsoever, but as long as it goes up it's my friend. I guess the customer base will be worth something to a facilities based C-LEC someday or fiber company, maybe ICIX or QWST.

Also check out KIWT. Similar model to QWST. Just got in at $64. A week ago they were around $40! Stock closed today at $68, been going up $3-$4 per day. Didn't even hear about it or I'd have gotten in sooner...I know some of the engineers they hired and they are top notch. I think there's a possible merger play there as well.
