Henry, this came out of a piece in Nature (page 621 of the 12-feb-98 issue; the letters are on page 834 of the 26-feb issue). Haseltine's response disputes the "exhaustive mining/milking" statement. David U'Prichard, chairman of R&D at SBH also has a letter essentially agreeing with Haseltine.

Think about this: the load of genetic information is enough to keep even someone as big as SBH busy for a long time. The "milking/mining" statement never made any sense to me.

What LGND presentation? Are you seeing tails (HGS, Ligand) wagging dogs (GLX, SBH) here? -g-
