DELL's margins (earnings) are being squeezed. There ain't no way around it. DELL's comments today do not address this! (They only address demand.)

WTC, you make too much sense.
Just tell them that both CPQ and DELL sell computers, but the little pieces that go inside those computers are different. The CPQ's sitting on store shelves do not compete with DELL's target market. Why do these people think that this is going to cause price competition with DELL? THEY ARE TWO DIFFERENT FREAKING MARKETS! If and when PC sales slow down in DELL's market, DELL will have problems, until then who cares.

Watchtower, there is a difference between expectations and actuality. How would you explain today's after-hours drop in the price of Dell if not decreased earnings expectations by the bulk of the instanet traders?

I am fully cognizant of how Dell does business, but I am also cognizant of how the markets react to the possibility of price wars.

Regards,

Paul
