Stitch
Welcome back. While you were away I went to cash here in Malaysia. Can't even trust the 'players' in this market. A couple of them got steam rollered this last week by external events. Look at Intria and Jotop.

Just watched the consultant for Suharto on Money Line on CNN. Real snazzy dresser, reminded me of a couple of snake oil salesmen I know. This guy loves being center-stage no doubt about it. Man if I had ANY money in Indonesia it would be in my pocket or under my mattress. They have a plan, - good - they haven't had time to talk to IMF or Rubin about it since they have been too busy talking to banks in Singapore, and the rest of Asia - bad - . WHAT the F......? - are the Singapore banks going to pull them out, maybe the Japanese?

Announced today that the next injection of cash (3b $) has been "delayed" until mid April. IMF waiting to see if they are serious about reforms.

BTW - It was noted this week that some high profile agency set up to deal with the crisis was a total sham. A name and no staff or power. Can't remember the name of the agency, but do recall the fanfare about having this new board established - Sometime in Nov / Dec as I recall.

Aww what the hell Asia at it's best.

To the pool and a 'red eye' Got to cook breakfast for some ex-pats. Even got real Maple syrup for the hot cakes and french toast.

Hi Stitch,

Thanks for your input. Don't know if you have seen this, but the latest issue of The Skeptical Investor may be of interest.

chebucto.ns.ca

Has interesting commentary on this issue. I really like his writings. I think he has the best grip on the Big Picture of all the pundits I have seen.
