Companies that are selling the sub-1000 pc must have razor thin margins. Compaq will most likely initiate a pc price war this spring/summer. Thus, weeding out the weaker pc companies. I have no doubt that Compaq will eventually emerge on top...even though I hate to see any of this. It is odd that EP decided to go with the DEC merger when he must have known abouth these problems.

Does anyone know what's CPQ's profit margins for the sub-1000 computers, and when CPQ can buy back shares?
