First, if DELL can reduce costs 50%, and cuts the cost of its computers to buyers by 50%, I do nothing. I can go right to DELL's homepage and get the price on every computer they make, until I see CPQ or GTW compete, I do nothing. As long as DELL has a superior manufacturing strategy, CPQ and GTW will not be able to compete. The day will come when this changes. I think I will see it in advance. If overall PC sales slow, I probably won't.
Lastly, thank you for your concern, but this has nothing to do with greed on my part, it has to do with logic and common sense. I believe in my research. I don't use examples of what happenned with this company and that industry to try and determine what will happen to DELL. I heard the same arguments, like yours, about KO and PEP. I can give just as many examples of the oppossite effect.
