I'm guessing about 99% of the people on this thread are long on asnd except for the few who are day trading the stock who gives a crap what the after market quotes are. The bottom line here is A. asnd will NOT drop below 30, B. This will be a $60 stock this year take over or not and C. The worse is over for the company regardless of what happens on wall st., this stock is headed up for the rest of the year no matter what. Yes we get a pull back from time to time like the other day but this is a no brainer. Just sit back and watch the chart inching its way back up.

CNNfn, for all--- the editor of red herring was being interviewed on digital jam and a caller ask what his thoughts were on ASND. He mentioned the recurring rumor of LU and mentioned that there had only been one or two IPOs in the last year or so in the networking sector and the trend was aquisition of small companies, His synopsis was that ASND would be aquired before year end at 5-7 dollars above the current price. This is what I heard over supper, kids talking so on - so on.. Never hurts to have some more retail.

When does the 1Q end for ASND? When does the 2Q end for ASND? (Are the calendar months or offset?

John, you are correct. Calendar months. 1Q98 ends on March 31. Earnings are then released on April 16 after the market closes.

How will this affect the stock price for 1Q and 2Q? What is your estimate of the ASND price with the info?

The information relayed to me by IR is consistent with what analysts are expecting and should not hurt or help the stock price.

As I said earlier this year, I think ASND should idle in the 35ish range until strong revenue growth kicks in or becomes likely.

Assuming that ASND meets the consensus estimate for 1Q98 (which seems almost a given) and in the conference call can reaffirm high single-digit revenue growth for 2Q and also can reaffirm double-digit revenue growth for 2H98, then I think the stock price will continue to creep up towards the 40+ range before 2Q earnings.

To repeat, the key to me is whether the low-single, high-single and double-digit sequential growth figures remain on track for 1Q, 2Q and 2H98 respectively.

Given the high demand for ATM product at the moment, and the fact that the GX550 has just recently begun to ship and bring in revenue (another item told to me by IR), I have every reason to believe that ASND will perform as Ashby promised.
