irthrifty:>GE, MRK, F, sector funds, and S & P 500 index.<
Sweet lord, you got lucky, or smart, or both, in your holdings.

--Lawrence Kam, why do you think I'm bottom fishing in tech? I got killed on the long side, abused on the short side, and I'm still too chicken to get back in.

Today's market action was really nice, however. I'm long brokers, with a drug stock and a couple of home builders, plus some miscellaneous stuff. What's nice is that I was up over 4.5% today.

Now, if I can just learn to make money, instead of losing money, I might start to get somewhere, like irthrifty looks to be doing.

And yes, I am scared by the PE on my drug stock. I don't like high PEs, and never felt comfortable with them.

PS: In after-market-hours trading, supposedly due to the CPQ warning, some of the major tech stocks were supposed to be trading down. CPQ, DELL, and others.

Re: Fun with Fruit-O-The-Looms

Anybody who's smart enough to play, can play short too. <g>

Sector and index funds? In my opinion (subject to change) if you're gonna spend the time to pick stocks you might as well pick em all. Or else just throw it all in the index fund basket and go have beer with the pack on Friday night, instead of troubleshooting networks and writing articles, like yours truly. <g>

God bless,
