To ALL:

OK. That's enough. To be frankly, I believe Dell is doing OK so far otherwise they won't make such comments after CPQ's warning. However, i do smell some implication. "Firm" in "Major" market place? Why not say "Strong" in "All" market place. Anyway, that may sound idiot.

The next factor is : Will Wall street worry the price war may affect Dell's earning/margin? If other big 3(CPQ, IBM, HWP) cut price severely, that would not affect Dell at all??? Dell's system recognized as the absolute far better one than other brands'. Therefore, they don't have to cut their price because their demand would NOT be affected at all. When AMD debut K6, some people say it would affect INTC a lot because INTC is the brandname and the performance of INTC is sure to be better. No one will buy AMD's K6. I doubt it.

I think we all agree CPQ's warning created some kind of potential uncertainty in the pc industry. With Dell's pe like a network/software company, will you keep buying, or take your profit, stand on the side line to see what's going on?

comments welcomed!
