Henry, <<I think that LGND already has a small molecule for Epogen>> Say what? Have they disclosed this in meetings/papers, or is it your (well educated) speculation? I do agree that conceptually it is not hard to imagine extrapolating whatever worked for GM-CSF (assuming Biotech Jim was not pulling our chain -g-) to other cytokines signaling thru STATs. And thanks for the clarification on merger mania vs. R&D, and targeted discovery vs. genomics/combinatorial chemistry. PB
