Yeah, it beats the heck out of tulips. You actually have to grow tulips. That takes a while. With stock, you just issue the shares and boom, instant money. I agree, who needs earnings. We lost book value a long time ago and that didn't seem to matter. -ggggg-

It is interesting though, how often I have heard this line of thought in the last couple of days. Things like, "Its not an earnings driven market." (Duh!) or "Short term earnings disappointments have already been discounted." or "The market is now looking out to the second half and sees strong growth." or "The Asian crisis has already been discounted."

How the heck can everything be DISCOUNTED when the market is at all time highs and the carnage is everywhere ?
