COMPUTER CUSTOMERS RATE DELL AMONG THE BEST IN PRODUCTS,SERVICES
Computer users in the United States have declared their satisfaction with Dell Computer Corporation products and services by rating the company one of the industry's best in four recently published independent surveys.
Dell (Nasdaq:DELL), the world's leading direct computer systems company, ranked in the top two PC manufacturers in Fortune magazine's 1998 Customer Satisfaction Index. The satisfaction rating is based on annual research of 50,000 U.S. consumers conducted by the National Quality Research Center. Statisticians used six different quality indexes to compute the satisfaction ranking. Technology Business Research, Inc. placed Dell among the top in desktop PC industry quality and customer satisfaction in a report based on its fourth quarter 1997 survey* released February l2, 1998. The survey of 150 IT buyers, who represent approximately 728,500 desktop PCs, gave Dell the only comprehensive score in the "A" category for overall satisfaction on its Desktop PC Customer Satisfaction Scorecard. Within the desktop PC market, the survey notes, "where Dell excels and most of its competitors fall short" is technical support response. Furthermore, the report revealed that corporate desktop customers, who look for hardware quality/reliability and service/support, score Dell the highest in quality.
